Kami Hair Tools – End User License Agreement (EULA) ​

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING OR USING THIS SOFTWARE.

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a binding legal contract between you (either an individual or a legal entity) and Kami Hair Tools regarding the use of the associated software, plugins, scripts, and documentation (collectively, the "Software").

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Software.

1. Grant of License ​

Kami Hair Tools operates on a perpetual "Purchase once, use forever" model. There are no recurring subscription fees. Subject to your payment of the applicable license fee and compliance with this Agreement, Kami Hair Tools grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software.

The specific rights granted depend on the License Tier purchased:

A. Standard License (Individual & Freelance) ​

  • Target User: Individual artists, freelancers, and general commercial users.
  • Usage Rights: You are granted the right to use the tool for personal projects, commercial work, social media content (e.g., YouTube), and studio productions.
  • Format: The software is provided as compiled code to ensure stability and security. Reverse engineering or decompiling this code is prohibited.
  • Attribution: No attribution is required in your final renders or productions.

B. Studio Source License (Deep Pipeline Integration) ​

  • Target User: Technical Directors (TDs) and Studios requiring pipeline integration.
  • Source Access: Grants access to the uncompiled Python source code.
  • Customization: You are permitted to modify the internal logic and code to fit specific proprietary studio workflows or pipelines.
  • Site Usage: This license covers a single studio site location. For multi-site studios, a separate license is required for each location.
  • Restriction: Modifications made to the source code are for internal use only. You may not repackage, resell, or distribute the modified source code as a standalone product or plugin.

2. Intellectual Property & Ownership ​

The Software is licensed, not sold. Kami Hair Tools retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights, copyrights, and trade secrets.

  • No Resale: You may not sell, rent, lease, lend, distribute, or sublicense the Software or any copies thereof.
  • No Repackaging: You may not include Kami Hair Tools (in compiled or source form) in any other software package, asset pack, or plugin collection intended for redistribution or sale.

3. Updates and Support ​

  • Lifetime Updates: Both License Tiers include access to future updates of the Software for the supported Maya versions at no additional cost.
  • Support: Technical support is provided to ensure the tool functions as advertised. However, "Studio Source" support does not cover debugging custom code modifications made by the user.

4. Restrictions on Use ​

You agree not to use the Software for any unlawful purpose. Furthermore, you agree not to:

  1. Bypass any security measures or license verification systems included in the Software.
  2. Share the install files, license keys, or source code on public forums, file-sharing sites, or with unlicensed third parties.
  3. Use the Kami Hair Tools brand, logo, or trademark to promote a competitive product.

5. Termination ​

This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this Agreement will terminate automatically without notice from Kami Hair Tools if you fail to comply with any term(s) of this Agreement (e.g., unauthorized distribution of the Software). Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies, full or partial, of the Software.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties ​

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.

Kami Hair Tools expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will meet your requirements or that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability ​

In no event shall Kami Hair Tools be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use this product, even if Kami Hair Tools has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Refund Policy ​

Due to the digital nature of the product (downloadable software and/or source code), all sales are final. Refunds are generally not provided unless there is a proven technical issue that prevents the Software from functioning on a supported system and which support cannot resolve.

By installing or using Kami Hair Tools, you acknowledge that you have read this Agreement, understand it, and agree to be bound by its terms.
